As Interim Director, Sean is responsible for promoting the market across the globe, seeking new business opportunities and monitoring the development of emerging markets.

Matthew Chandler is Head of International Market Development (IMD).
International Market Development
The team is responsible for supporting Lloyd’s business development around the world.
This involves:

Working with Lloyd’s regional and country managers around the world (in the US, Europe, Australia, Singapore, China and Japan) to better understand these insurance markets, and promote and develop profitable underwriting opportunities for Lloyd’s.

Working with the market to explore opportunities for license development in both established markets (where Lloyd’s has a physical presence) and new markets (where Lloyd’s does not have a physical presence).

Working with managing agents and brokers to seek new licenses and representation in territories where there is demand and appetite from the market and the Corporation.
Market Intelligence
Filip Wuebbeler is the Manager of the Market Intelligence team, which provides analysis of the world’s insurance industry from a geographic perspective for the benefit of Lloyd’s managing agents to help develop business internationally. Five key products are delivered:

Compare Countries provides high level statistics across 200+ territories on the economy, insurance market and Lloyd's business, employing Google Motion chart technology and regional heat maps for a quick overview.

Country Profiles provides individual summaries for Lloyd’s key territories. These profiles contain factsheets on the economy, insurance market and Lloyd’s business.

Market Presentations contain local insights offered by Lloyd's Country Managers on opportunities and challenges for Lloyd's in their markets.

Country Roundups provides summaries of recent industry news from Lloyd's Country Managers. These one pagers contain snippets of insurers & reinsurers news as well as updates on distribution and local Lloyd's events.

Class Review provides a benchmarking tool for class of business analysis in key territories for Managing Agents. The reports contain detailed comparisons of Lloyd's premium and performance trends against the local market.
Ed Pennock is the Senior Manager of the Operations team, which is responsible for managing Lloyd's international operations (outside of North America) including co-ordinating with other teams to ensure that:

Lloyd’s has the appropriate representation in key territories to meet regulatory requirements and the adequately support the Lloyd’s market.

The international network operates in accordance with Lloyd’s guidelines and compliance framework.

The international network, including all overseas staff, receive the support they require in performing their functions (inc. HR, property, systems).

Supporting Lloyd’s country reps when visiting London.

The services required by the market are delivered efficiently, with a consistent approach.

The profile and value of the international network is communicated to and understood by the Lloyd’s market.

Establishment and support of new offices where required.
